z-weave 5.1.0: More Precise Measurement, Smoother Workflows, and Better Creative Control
August 28, 2026
We’re excited to introduce z-weave 5.1.0, an update designed to make garment development more accurate, intuitive, and efficient.
This release brings a new way to measure garments and avatars directly in 3D, greater flexibility when working with custom-avatar animations, and a series of workflow improvements across UV editing, surface creation, simulation, and image capture.
✨ Measure Exactly Where It Matters with Cross-section Measurement
One of the key additions in z-weave 5.1.0 is Cross-section Measurement.

You can now measure the circumference or width of an avatar or garment at any horizontal or vertical cut point. Instead of relying on approximate visual checks, users can place a measurement section exactly where they need it—whether that is across the bust, waist, hip, sleeve, hem, or another specific area of the garment.
This makes it easier to review fit, compare proportions, and make more informed pattern and styling decisions throughout the 3D development process.
Play Custom Avatar Animations in Reverse
Custom-avatar workflows now offer more control with reverse animation playback.

When reviewing garment movement, being able to play an animation backward can be just as useful as playing it forward. It helps users inspect drape, collision behavior, folds, and transitions from another perspective—especially when checking fast movements or refining a simulation.
Vizoo Drape Ball Added to Default Avatars
z-weave 5.1.0 also adds the Vizoo Drape Ball to the default avatar options.

This provides another useful reference for evaluating fabric behavior and visualizing drape characteristics during garment development.
⚡️A More Refined Everyday Workflow
Beyond the new features, this version includes improvements that make common tasks clearer and more convenient.
The UV Editor now includes a grid-based interface, making UV work easier to read and manage. The 3D context menu has also been reorganized for a more streamlined workflow.

For surface creation, z-weave now makes endpoint gaps more visible and provides validation messages when using Unfold and Make Surface. These updates help users identify potential issues earlier and create surfaces with greater confidence.

Other workflow enhancements include:
- Keeping the selected animation track for each custom avatar
- Supporting deforming and sculpting during simulation
- Adding an inner-curve bounding box for more precise editing
- Applying the current camera viewport directly in the Image Capture dialog
🚀Built for a More Confident Creation Process
z-weave 5.1.0 is about giving creators more visibility and control at the moments where precision matters most—from checking garment measurements and reviewing motion to refining surfaces and preparing final visuals.
Update to z-weave 5.1.0 today and experience a more accurate, flexible, and polished garment-creation workflow.
